The idea that death is final is a myth that has gone on too long. There is so much evidence for the existence of an after-life..  but..  so far no one has managed to organise it into a wholey tangible idea.. that might be simple grasped by all because of its logic and self-evidence.

My thinking is that the net needs to be cast as widely as possible to catch anything of real value in order to creat a theory of an after-life. .  that could stand up to scientifics scrutiny.  By means of a system of progressive aproximation we can draw on as many systems and thinkers as possible. .  and then look for a pattern in what's being said. . .  and slowly move forward from there.

I realise that. . "death is final"  seems to be the most simple explantion. . because  it is  what we see  with our eyes.  But then. .  if I check the floor in my kitchen with a level. .   I might well be led to think that the earth is flat. . .  from my very limited viewpoint. .  that is.

Anyhow. .  at least I KNOW that the sun revolves around the earth. .  that's obvious. .   right?  I can see it with my own eyes. . and everyone agrees with me when I point it out to them.

However. . I'm just emphasizing the illusory nature of existence. Things are never as they seem to be. .   right?

Then there's the flexibility of space/time. . and the many differing ways and means by which energy can channel and express itself. The probability seems to be rising all the time. . when you stop to consider the argument more carefully.

However. .  there's much more to it than that.

If one considers that there is no after-life. .  then they must also consider that the words of Jesus. .  the Buddha. .  and many more great hearts. . and great minds. .  as being  unrealistic then. .  when they talk of a continuity. . ?

How is it that most of the greatest minds have considered that life continues beyond death then. . ?  Is it mere chance. .  or what?  Few have aquired the wisdom and the spiritual power such as these sages had. .  so how is it possible for the likes of us to even consider that we might be in possession of better judgment. . given our limited understanding and point of view?

These are just some of the arguments that need to be taken into consideration.

What's more. .  circumstancial evidence for the continuity of life by far out weighs any possible evidence against it.  In fact. .  I've never yet come across a sensible argument to support the belief that death is final.

I can't see how anyone could make the association between. . viewing life realistically. .  and not believing in the continuation of life when the body dies.

Most of what I've read on this subject has been written by very realistic individuals. .  so. . to me. .  believing that. just because the body dies. .  the spirit/soul dies too. .  doesn't seem to be realistic at all.

I think that if life after death can seen to be much more probable. .  then people would behave themselves much better in this world. .  and would realise that the harm they do to others. .  they also do to themselves. .  since their immortal soul becomes contaminated by their own sins. .  for want of a better word.

I'm talking about it in terms of existing circumstancial evidence. Of course.. we can't all have a direct knowledge of death. .  since this is dependent on our own experience.  But often. . those who have died and who are brought back to life report a continuaity in consciousness. .  and out of the body experiences. .  and near death experiences are commonly reported nowdays.
I would say that there is a very high probability. .  that's all.  In my mind. .  the continuity of existence is highly probable. .  and very rational. .   and death as final is not.

I believe that this worldly life is an in between stage of life. .   and that just as a baby takes nine months in the womb to develope before it is born into the world. .   the soul - and the spirit - also take time to mature and develope. .  and we have an average life span of about eighty to ninety years to achieve this.

Personally. .  I don't believe that the human race is the crown of creation. .  there's still much more that lies beyond us undiscovered and not really understood. .  yet.

Why shouldn't human life just be a nursery for something higher then. . ?

I believe that spirituality and science are complimentary. .  rather than in opposition.

If the entire universe can evolve out of. . apparant. .   nothingless. .  under its own volition. .  then surely it follows. .  that something more can evolve out of human kind. .  a higher level of living consciousness maybe. . which is not necessarly dependant on mass for its substance.

I mean. . what is it that matter is really made of. . ?

Phycists have calculated that if the earth got drawn down into a black hole that it would crush down to the size of a pea.  Most of what appears to be solid then is not solid at all. .  just energy in motion within some mysterious framework of a flexi space-time.

So much for the solid world.

What REALLY IS the substance of life then. .  ?

"I saw that the universe is not composed of dead matter, but is, on the contrary, a living Presence; I became conscious in myself of eternal life. It was not a conviction that I would have eternal life, but a consciousness that I possessed eternal life then; I saw that all men are immortal; that the cosmic order is such that without any peradventure all things work toether for the good of each and all; that the foundation principle of the world, of all the worlds, is what we call love, and that the happiness of each and all is in the long run absolutely certain."

Extract from Cosmic Consciousness - by RM Bucke

It seems that the universe is. .  essencialy. .  a mental phenomena. .  that has given rise to the subjective - objective manifestation. .  the duality of existence in order to create the primary imagery which we download through our organs of sense. .  and the brain converts the sensory stimulus of the world arond us into mental images which are stored as memories.

When the body dies. .  the mental aspect of ourselfs returns to it's source of origin. .  I refere to this source as the Primary Field. . some may call it God though too.

The Primary Field Theory is my own idea. .  which has been built up on the ideas of existing physics. . mainly relativity. But unlike existing physics. . it includes consciousness with the physical universe.

It's true that opposites attract. .  but then like also attracts like.  When pondering gravitation. . Plato thought. .  that maybe things fell to the ground because that's where they belong. .  and I think this idea is a good way of expressing what happens to the spirit-soul when the body dies.  It goes where it belongs.  Loving souls are drawn towards other loving souls and dark sould get trapped in the dark thoughts and deeds that they have themselves committed while in their physical state of being. .  before than can go forward again and be purified.

Maybe they get reincarranated again. .  after some time. .  for another chance.
I don't know.  But I do believe that the universe. .  and by this I me both the outerspace and the inner one two. .  has justiced inherently built into it. .  and that no one can escape their crimes because what they have done wrong becomes inscribed upon their own soul. .  because it's part of their memory. . and this is what my own ideas are about. .  the metaphysics of the relationship between consciousness.. memory.. and imagination.. and our identification with the stars.

I would say. .  going by existing evidence. .  that the universe is essencially a mental phenomena. .  and that imagination is the core of our being. The memories created in this world are the basis for the next. .  and that's why experiencing good things is so important to us all.

"The principle of mentalism. ALL IS MIND, THE UNIVERSE IS MENTAL. This principle explains the true nature of energy, power and matter."

"The principle of correspondence. AS ABOVE, SO BELOW; AS BELOW SO ABOVE. This principle enables man to reason intelligently from the known to the unknown."
